Merkl Powers Arbitrum’s DRIP: 80M ARB Rewards to Boost DeFi Activity

We are excited to announce that Merkl is powering Arbitrum’s new DeFi Renaissance Incentive Program (DRIP), a bold initiative designed to grow activity across the Arbitrum ecosystem.

Over the next 12 months, DRIP will distribute a total of 80 million ARB tokens to participants across multiple DeFi protocols, with Merkl at the core of making it all happen.

What's DRIP?

Arbitrum’s DRIP (DeFi Renaissance Incentive Program) is a 12-month initiative set to boost activity across the Arbitrum One network. Rolled out over four strategic seasons, each focusing on a different areas of DeFi, the first season shines a spotlight on lending markets, featuring top protocols like Morpho, Aave, Euler, Silo, Dolomite, and Fluid.

Users can claim their share of 80M ARB tokens just by interacting with these protocols, and the full list of opportunities is available on the DRIP app.

By tying rewards directly to participation, DRIP is designed to drive engagement, grow the ecosystem, and empower the next wave of DeFi innovation on Arbitrum.

Merkl: the infrastructure behind DRIP

DRIP brings together several key actors: the program is funded by the Arbitrum DAO, managed by ** Entropy Advisors**, and powered by ** Merkl** for all incentive distribution and infrastructure.

Merkl was selected to power DRIP because of the strength of the Merkl Engine, our proprietary system capable of analyzing the onchain activity of thousands of users simultaneously and distributing rewards to them every few hours, at scale, fairly, and transparently.

Supporting a wide range of protocols, Merkl is uniquely suited for ambitious programs like DRIP that bring multiple DeFi projects together.

Here’s how it works in practice:

• A user deposits liquidity into a participating protocol’s vault or pool
• The Merkl Engine detects this deposit and calculates ARB rewards based on the amount deposited, the duration of the deposit, and the total vault TVL
• Rewards are distributed automatically, allowing users to claim ARB tokens directly in the DRIP app

Beyond powering the infrastructure, Merkl has also developed the DRIP app, a customized version of the Merkl App, designed to deliver a smooth token claim experience with an intuitive interface. This ensures that every user can easily track, claim, and manage their ARB rewards.

How to participate?

Getting started with DRIP is simple:

1. Bridge funds to Arbitrum One

2. Visit the DRIP app powered by Merkl, browse opportunities, and interact with a participating protocol (lend assets, supply liquidity, etc.)

3. Monitor your positions on the dashboard and claim your ARB tokens as they accumulate. Rewards are distributed on average every 8 hours
